Foggy Brain Challenges: Discovering Simple Solutions.

One of my clients came to me with a sense of total anxiety and hopelessness. They found no medical reason for their lack of concentration and forgetfulness after undergoing a series of medical tests. They initially thought they might have the beginning of Alzheimer's or dementia. After ruling that out, they arrived in my room. After having a thorough discussion with them, it turned out that the solution was simple: go to sleep earlier than they normally would and be consistent with it every night.

There’s been so much research done that shows the best times to actually go to sleep are within about 3 hours of sundown and to wake up within 1-2 hours from sunrise. That’s one thing.

A relatively new study shows in more detail that it is extremely important to be going to sleep at the same time. We go through different phases of sleep in several cycles each night. Each cycle lasts on average about 90 minutes, and the first cycle is responsible for cleansing your brain. In simple words, if you skip the first cycle, you will have skipped the cleanup phase from the day before. The first cycle is responsible for cleaning up rubbish from the day that has finished. It literally gets rid of all the junk from your brain. If you go to sleep later than usual, you don’t get this cleansing effect the day after. If your bedtime is different each night, your body clock is confused, and you may miss some of those important cleansing properties.

So my client started a new bedtime routine, and it worked. It wasn’t instant, but gradually they felt a massive improvement in their concentration, clarity, and so on.

It is important to know that this cleansing is only possible in the first cycle, so if you think that you can go to sleep later and still get it, well, you are wrong. Your organism will start from the second sleeping cycle, even though it is your first one, and the second cycle doesn’t have those powerful cleansing properties as the first one.

All cases are different, as we are all unique.
